If you are considering starting your Microloc journey
OR
already started here are some loc facts and things to consider:
MOST COMMON ISSUES: frizz and slippages
SOFT HAIR PROBLEMS: slippage and unraveling
CURLY HAIR PROBLEMS: frizz
COARSE HAIR PROBLEMS: shrinkage and frizz
STRAIGHT HAIR PROBLEMS: slippage and unraveling
RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE: 4-6 weeks; max 8 weeks ($200) via interlocking
ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE: locksmithing or instant matting frizz.
CHOOSE YOUR STYLIST WISELY: I recommend that you stick to one loctician instead of multiple people because everyone may not be as thorough with your maintenance
TRANSFER CLIENTS: repairs and maintenance can be costly and time consuming depending on the state of the locs. Starting at $300 and requires a consultation. Locs that are smaller than my average installs take longer to service and will cost more.
BOOKING:
I recommend booking your follow up before your leave your current appointment.
Book at least 2 weeks in advance because spots fill fast.
Not following recommendations can result to loc damages that need repairs and can become expensive. Follow the recommendation of your styles to have a smooth loc journey.
HOW TO CARE FOR THE LOCS:
Avoid wetting them often especially with extensions it can lead to slippage.
Braid and band when washing your hair and let the hair dry completely before removing the braids.
You can blow dry but use a heat protectant spray.
Use a satin bonnet or satin pillowcase.
Avoid conditioners and cream it can soften the hair and cause slippage especially with extensions. It can also leave build up.
